History: Another First

March 21, 1917 - Chief Yeoman Loretta Walsh is sworn in to the U.S. Naval Reserve making her the first woman to officially join the United States Navy.

Oh also, if I might, "Be A Man Do It" is probably one of the most awesome recruiting slogans of all time. We don't live in a gung-ho cowboy country at all, do we?
