And I guess that's all it really should be.

I still have a bunch of screen grabs from the movie so I'm thinking Friday's post will be a good place to show those off alongside some contemporary paintings of Emma and Horatio. More to come...Paulinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11730716060906158244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-876794033107456809.post-17705676067670294762010-05-24T13:01:35.282-08:002010-05-24T13:01:35.282-08:00Ahoy, Pauline! As you know, I am not usually a big fan of the "old fashioned hollywod romance" movies...

The film is also amusingly dated in it's bloodless violence and sexless romance, too. How did that baby happen, from kissing? I mean, they don't even have a fade out to imply that these people slept together... Ah, the good old days of the Hays code. Ya gotta love it. Oh, wait, you don't?

Oh well, our daughters seemed to enjoy the movie too, so I guess it's good thing it wasn't a modern film where the violence and sex would probably be TOO explicit for us to let them watch it.

I will say that the the battle sequence at the end was my favorite part... what a surprise, eh, Pirate Queen? Even if most of the effects were pretty obviously done with models. It's still fun to watch stuff blow up, real good.Timmy!https://www.blogger.com/profile/09902641426229272672noreply@blogger.com
